Facebook, the largest social network in the world is about to close an agreement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in the USA for which the agency will monitor the privacy policy of the company of Mark Zuckerberg. A measure that would come after that country's authorities opened an investigation in 2009 at the company for its data privacy policy.

According advanced Friday The Wall Street Journal, the agreement shall provide that Facebook will need the express consent of its 800 million users before applying "substantial changes retroactively." Indeed, the periodic changes in the management configuration of personal data entered by Facebook have cost the firm strong complaints from users and organizations. Now, with the agreement, Facebook will undertake to submit to an independent audit for 20 years, which, according to The Guardian, facilitate its IPO because it eliminates uncertainties.

On the other hand, Brussels will require major websites that shuffled personal information, such as Facebook and Google, to remove personal information from users who are written off rather than keep all the information. European Justice Commissioner, Viviane Reding, will recognize "the right to disappear," the Internet in their proposal to amend the data protection directive intends to present in January.
