Asus EE Transformer Prime Android Honeycomb

ASUS has just announced its new tablet Eee Pad Transformer Prime, the first solution based on NVIDIA's Tegra 3 Kal-El platform. The SoC with quad-core CPU and companion core, combined with the GeForce graphics chip with 12 stream processors makes its lion's share in this device which also has many other interesting and innovative aspects.

Starting from the panel 10.1-inch Super-IPS+ technology with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, 178-degree viewing angle, Protection "Gorilla Glass" and anti-fingerprint film, to the aluminum shell with a thickness of only 8,3 mm (the thinnest in its class) with a total weight of 586 grams.
NVIDIA Tegra platform quad-core Cortex-A9 running at maximum frequency of 1.4 GHz when it is running a single core or 1.3 GHz with more than one active core, 1GB of memory are matched LPDDR2 and 32 or 64 GB of memory EMMC storage. The tablet, however, provides a micro SD slot to expand storage capacity and has two cameras, one rear 8Mpixel with LED flash capable of recording 1080p video and front with a 1.2 megapixel sensor.

Connectivity is provided by a Wi-Fi 802.11n module and Bluetooth 2.1 with no lack of support for GPS, gyro and micro HDMI. The audio quality was substantially improved compared to the past through the use of technology and broader Sonic Master speaker. The battery 25Wh Lithium-polymer provides up to 12 hours may be extended up to 18 hours with optional docking station. The latter also includes a keyboard, a touchpad, a SD memory card reader and a USB 2.0 connection.

The new tablet ASUS Eee Top Pad Transformer will be available in champagne and black-amethyst finishes. Initially based on Android Honeycomb operating system, will be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich in December. The prices in the U.S. market, will be around $499 for the 32GB version and $599 for that to 64GB.
